Measurement System
Measurement System in Cooperation with Lärmzentrale
For the permanent monitoring of noise immissions we deploy a distributed measurement system: measurement stations record sound levels on site without gaps, transmit them continuously to a server and make them available there in a web dashboard. Evaluation, alerting and reporting run automatically.
The system was developed together with the TransMIT Centre for Noise Immission Control, which develops and operates the Lärmzentrale platform. Kramer Schalltechnik GmbH, as a measurement body designated under § 29b BImSchG (Federal Immission Control Act), was substantially involved in its development and produced the software running on the measurement stations.
Measuring
- Permanent measurement stations and mobile recording
- Connection of standard Class 1 sound level meters, including instruments already in use
- Continuous recording of broadband levels and third-octave spectra
- Optional audio recording at level peaks, to establish whether a noise originates from the monitored installation or from outside
- Data transmission via mobile network or fixed line, including at sites without infrastructure
- Local buffering, so that no readings are lost if the connection drops
Monitoring
- Live dashboard showing the current levels of all measurement stations
- Freely configurable displays for each project
- Warning and alarm function as the limit or guide values are approached, by email or SMS
- This makes it possible to intervene before an exceedance occurs
Documenting
- Automated daily, weekly and monthly reports
- Evaluation in accordance with the relevant German regulations – such as TA Lärm, AVV Baulärm, the LAI Leisure Noise Guideline and DIN 15905-5
- Redundant storage on servers located in Germany
- Filing and archiving in a form that is traceable for designated measurement bodies
- Reports as complete evidence for authorities and residents
Try the Demo Dashboard
Lärmzentrale provides two dashboard types as a demo – no login required, with simulated measurement data. The demo loads only on click, which establishes a connection to lärmzentrale.de.
Where We Use the System
- Construction Noise – monitoring in accordance with AVV Baulärm throughout the construction period
- Industrial & Commercial Noise – verification of noise control conditions during ongoing plant operation
- Leisure Noise – Events – level monitoring at concerts and open-air events
- Sports and Leisure Noise – baseline surveys and monitoring at sports and leisure facilities
- Wind Turbines – long-term measurements correlated with weather and operating data
Background to the Cooperation
Lärmzentrale is a spin-off via TransMIT GmbH, the technology transfer company of Justus Liebig University Giessen, with scientific responsibility held by Prof. Dr. Benjamin Bernschütz (Technische Hochschule Mittelhessen). As a development partner we support the platform and deploy it in our monitoring projects.
